The Raindrop Technique
The Raindrop technique derives its name from the art of dripping unadulterated, therapeutic grade essential oils onto the body like rain, so the oils interact with the physical body as well as its energy field. This was inspired by the American Indian belief that raindrops falling from a height may purify & cleanse the body & spirit. The oils are “feathered in” which D. Gary Young adapted from American Indian traditions. Because the essential oils easily penetrate the body, the techniques works on deep levels of the body without requiring hard pressure or force.
The Raindrop Technique also incorporates the ancient Tibetan technique of Vita Flex, which predates modern reflexology. This is performed on the spinal reflexes of the feet, using the same essential oils as in the Raindrop technique. Using Vita Flex on the feet first prepares the spine to receive the essential oils on a much deeper level. This combination makes for a profound experience, for the practitioner who is offering the technique & for the client who is receiving it. A ‘Raindrop’ promotes deep relaxation & energy balancing on a physical, mental/emotional and spiritual level.
The oils traditionally used in Raindrop Technique are: oregano, thyme, basil, cypress, wintergreen, marjoram, & peppermint along with the oil blends of valor & aroma size. A carrier oil such as V6, or jojoba oil, is also used. Our Raindrop technique services can also be customized through the use of Total Body Analysis to assist in essential oil selection that target specific areas in need of support. These targeted essential oils are then added in to the technique along with the traditional oils as outlined by D. Gary Young.
